Overview of submission policies and registration

 
                 
 
Margins, formats 		     
                 
  All types of contributions to 2007 IEEE ICAL must be submitted electronically.  
                 
 

1. Each paper is allocated six pages. A maximum of two additional pages is allowed at a charge of US$100 for each additional page. Two Papers are limited to each registered regular participant. Each student registration only covers one paper. Every paper must be registered, otherwise the paper will not be published and included in the conference CD.

2. Please make sure that all the fonts (including those in the figures/pictures/tables/equations) are embedded in your paper's PDF file. An instruction page has been set up in the conference site on how to check the IEEE Xplore PDF compliance (see 2007 ICAL website for details). You should submit a compliance email(saved in a txt file) that PDF eXpress will provide to you upon submission of the PDF file.

3. By accepting your paper, we request that you or your co-author register for 2007 ICAL and present the work at the conference. The authors' registration is due on July 15, 2007. If no author registers, the paper will not be included in the CD proceedings. If you or your co-author cannot register or present the paper at the conference, please inform us immediately.

                 
 

Final Submission Steps:

                 
  Final paper contributions consist of a PDF file (max 5 MB),  the E-mail IEEE PDF eXpress service sends to you after your PDF file passes the IEEE PDF eXpress compliance check(saved in a txt file, ) and a single PowerPoint slide for the ICAL07 Digest. For publication in the Conference proceedings, all accepted papers are limited to six (6) pages in the specified conference double-column format. Authors may upload longer manuscripts up to a maximum of eight (8) pages in total. However, each page in excess of six will incur an overlength charge of 100 USD. The PDF file of a final paper should be checked preliminarily for IEEE Xplore compliance. General information on how to check for IEEE Xplore compliance are given in the page on using IEEE PDF eXpress.
                 
  Step I: You should go through the reviews carefully and revise your paper accordingly.
                 
  Step II: Check your paper format, make sure that it strictly follow the IEEE conference Two-Column format.

REMINDER: Authors are responsible for submitting their paper in the required format. All papers that are accepted will be published as submitted by the Author. The Conference is NOT responsible for editing or correcting errors in the paper.  
                 
Step III: The PDF file of each paper must be checked by IEEE PDF eXpress. This is mandatory for the compatibility of all manuscripts that have to be included in IEEE Xplore.

If you do it by YOURSELF,
  • Use Acrobat or other software tools convert your manuscript to PDF.
  • AFTER the conversion, the PDF file made by yourself MUST be checked by IEEE PDF eXpress. This is mandatory for the compatibility of all manuscripts that have to be included in IEEE Xplore.

    Otherwise, please convert to and check PDF files using IEEE PDF eXpress
  • Create your manuscript(s).
  • Proofread and check layout of manuscript (it is highly recommended that you do this BEFORE going to IEEE PDF eXpress.).
  • Create IEEE PDF eXpress account.
  • Upload source file(s) for Conversion and/or PDF(s) for Checking.
  • IEEE PDF eXpress attains full IEEE Xplore-compatible PDF files.

    Introduction to IEEE PDF eXpress
    IEEE ICAL 2007 has registered for use of the IEEE tool: IEEE PDF eXpress.

    According to the new IEEE Xplore Requirements for PDF, all conference articles submitted for inclusion in IEEE Xplore must adhere to the IEEE Xplore PDF specification for compatibility.

    IEEE PDF eXpress is a free service to IEEE conferences, allowing their authors to make IEEE Xplore-compatible PDFs (Conversion function) or to check PDFs that authors have made themselves for IEEE Xplore compatibility (PDF Check function)

    It is important to note that submitting a file to IEEE PDF eXpress is only for creation of a compliant PDF file, you must still submit your final paper through ICAL Website. how to use IEEE PDF eXpress

    		  
                     
    Step IV: You should submit the compliance email (saved in a txt file) that the IEEE PDF eXpress service sends to you after your PDF file passes the IEEE PDF eXpress compliance check, together with your final submission of the checked PDF file.  
                     
    Step V : Slide preparation for Digest  
    As usual for ICALs, there will be a Digest distributed to all registered participants of ICAL07. The Digest includes general information and the whole technical program. There will be one PowerPoint slide illustrating each paper (organized in sessions).  
    For preparing the slide of your paper, please use only the PowerPoint template available here and follow closely the instructions given therein.  
     Although the Digest will be printed in black & white, color pictures can be used.  
    Please, have your PowerPoint file ready for upload when accessing the final submission procedure in ICAL Website.

    a) The title of paper should be a captial initial.
    such as: New Approach on Nano Sensor....

    b) The Last Name and the First Name of authors should be captial initial and should not be abbreviation. Information of each authors should be filled.

    c) Please spell all authors' names in ASCII(English?) code. Don't use Europe code and 2-byte code.

    A ccepted papers:

    Accepted papers will be published in the Proceedings of the 2007 IEEE International Conference on Automation and Logistics. The IEEE copyright form ( PDF , Word ) must be sent to us by email(tli@sdu.edu.cn), fax or mailing. All papers presented in the conference will be indexed by EI and included in IEEE Xplore®.
